"GRID Adaptivity" feature optimizes the cutting process by saving machine time for initial height sensing (IHS). It eliminates multiple IHS operations between cutting of particular contours. Instead, it scans the whole necessary area on the material surface by laser scanner prior to cutting to determine the distance from torch for all contours in the cutting plan.
Additional advantages:
For plasma cutting, it protects the torch and consumables by eliminating mechanical contact with material for IHS – or, in case of using IHS by mechanical probe, it eliminates the mechanical probe device.
For oxyfuel bevel cutting, the machine will avoid using mechanical probe that slides on the material surface to determine its distance from torch tip – contact-free means more durable.
