On 28th July to 3rd August 2015, the Formula Student Germany competition was held at the legendary German racing circuit Hockenheimring. It is a competition for future engineers and managers who, in addition to studying at university, dedicate their time to building electric and combustion formula cars. Together with about a hundred teams, Slovak STUBA Green Team, the only team with an electric formula car in Slovak Republic, took part in this event.
This season was a breakthrough for the team. After some time they built a completely new car that, for the first time since the foundation of the team, was equipped with aerodynamic parts such as wings and diffuser as well as two motors driving the rear wheels. The team worked on the construction with several companies, including the company MicroStep s.r.o. that helped by cutting parts for them, especially for the battery box.
Because of problems caused by time shortage, the team took part only in static disciplines in Hockenheim (Business Plan, Cost and Engineering Design) in which they gained valuable experience. One more competition is awaiting the team this season, Formula Student Hungary, and they are doing everything they can to be able to take part in driving disciplines there as well.
