MicroStep showcased CyberFab Manager at IMF 2023

The 2023 International Machinery Fair in Brno, Czech Republic was marked by innovations, digitalization, and the pursuit of enhanced production efficiency. Visitors were not only treated to the latest in machinery and industrial equipment but also enjoyed a novel experience of being served beer by a robotic arm.

The recent International Machinery Fair in Brno showcased cutting-edge innovations in the realm of machinery and industrial equipment. Over the course of four days, from October 10th to 14th, attendees had the opportunity to explore and, in many cases, even test out novelties in cutting, welding, machining, and materials processing. They were able to witness technological advancements in automation, robotics, 3D printing, and digitalization.

Key Topics: Digitalization, Robotics, and Sustainability

Industry 4.0:
A prominent theme at the fair was the incorporation of Industry 4.0 principles into machinery and manufacturing processes. Manufacturers spanning various industrial sectors, including MicroStep, presented solutions for intelligent, connected machinery capable of optimizing production, reducing downtime, and enhancing overall efficiency.

Robotics and Automation:
Another substantial area of focus was the presentation of robotic solutions, including collaborative robots, robotic arms, and autonomous systems designed to streamline and automate manufacturing operations.

3D Printing: Additive manufacturing technologies took center stage at the fair, demonstrating their transformative potential across various industries, from aerospace and automotive to healthcare and consumer goods.

Sustainable Machines:
Environmental sustainability emerged as another significant topic, with many exhibitors showcasing eco-friendly machinery and processes designed to minimize waste, energy consumption, and environmental impact.

MicroStep's CyberFab Manager Automates Manufacturing Cells

MicroStep´s booth was located within the "Digital Factory 2.0" pavilion, which offered visitors a unique opportunity to acquaint themselves with the latest digital technologies and innovations in industrial automation. In a live stand we presented our oxy-fuel bevel cutting head, capable of cutting mild steel up to 150 mm thick and up to 60° angle, including additional beveling of A, V, X, Y, K edge profiles into straight pre-cut parts that are precisely measured by a laser scanner before cutting – the patented ABP technology. The main attraction of our exhibit, aligned with the theme of the "Digital Factory 2.0," was the software suite CyberFab Manager that automates the production process on cutting machines and also allows for the integration of other workstations, such as bending, deburring or welding while users gain a comprehensive overview of their ongoing manufacturing projects. Visitors had the opportunity to test the entire system, including MicroStep's innovative control system CyberFab Control, in a MMI control console featuring a simulated laser cutting machine.

MicroStep at the Digital Stage streamed by Elektrika.tv

The Digital Stage studio came alive with live broadcasts, moderated segments, and interviews during the first three days of the fair. Topics covered a broad spectrum of products and technologies, ranging from 3D printing, nanotechnology, and digital twins to artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), 5G networks, and cybersecurity, all the way to Industry 4.0. MicroStep was featured in two moderated interviews about our digital platform, CyberFab, one with the company's Managing Director and leader of the software teams, Eva Stejskalova, and another with Marketing Manager Michal Kovac. The recordings of both interviews will soon be available in the archives of the Czech streaming platform Elektrika.tv.

The fair showcased an industry rapidly evolving to meet changing market demands, with a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the principles of Industry 4.0. Among the innovations that garnered exceptional popularity was a robotic bartender, serving thirsty visitors with genuine Pilsner beer.
