In a landmark event, the Lithuania-based Serpantinas UAB took us 30 years back in time.The Baltic countries – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – have been of a special significance for MicroStep's development in the region. Since early 2000's when the international expansion of MicroStep started, the Baltic markets served as a gateway for establishing MicroStep brand in Eastern Europe. With our local partners we managed to deliver over 50 CNC cutting machines in the first decade of the Millenium alone – this contributed to our stronger presence also in the neighbouring countries. Step by step we worked our solutions up, from small and mid-sized machines with mainly air-plasma and oxyfuel technologies to high-precision machines with high-definition plasma systems up to complex CNC cutting centres with multiple technologies such as bevel cutting and drilling that we mainly supply nowadays.
The Baltics is known for having pioneered several fields of the digital economy and this aspect makes the markets attractive for benchmarking of MicroStep digitalisation and smart factory solutions. Thanks to our official partner – Serpantinas Group – whose companies represent MicroStep in the three Baltic states since several years – we could meet customers with high IT awareness. This lead to implementing several applications of production management automation and gained us valuable field experience.
On September 9, 2022, MicroStep gladly took the opportunity to attend a gala event that marked 30 years of history of Serpantinas UAB, the mother company of Serpantinas Group. The celebration took place in Panevėžys, Lithuania – the city of company's origins and also its headquarters. The charming evening that featured a backward train ride, stilt artists, acrobatic performances and a fire show, framed by live band performances, took the guests through company history and present. An audience of over 100 people – among them business partners, customers and employees from several countries – also witnessed a premiere of new company movie while several long-term employees were taken to the stage to receive acknowledgement.
