150 guests celebrate with the cutting machine manufacturer and also marvel at the new demonstration and training centreOn Thursday, 17 September, around 150 guests from politics, trade and industry celebrated the inauguration of the new company headquarters in Bad Wörishofen together with the employees and friends of MicroStep Europa GmbH. It was at the same time the official kick-off for the new demonstration and training centre - the MicroStep CompetenceCenter.
"With the inauguration of our new headquarters we are ushering in a new era in the fledgling company's history", said Igor Mikulina, Managing Director of MicroStep Europa GmbH in his opening speech, and added: "Without our employees that would not have been possible. We will feel very comfortable in the new premises." The ceremony brought to an end a construction period of one year for the two-storey office centre and large warehouse with a total floor area of around 1500 sqm. Including car parks and office building, the site covers an area of approximately 3000 sqm with an investment volume of 2.5 million euros. "The idea of sustainability and resource efficiency pervades the entire structure of the building - from the large-area photovoltaic systems on the roof to the underfloor heating. For the facilities we used a combination of modernity paired with timeless elegance”, explained Johannes Ried, Head of Finance & Controlling.
Sufficient space to continue the growth course The building was erected as a timber-frame construction with natural thermal insulation for energy minimisation. An intelligent building control system reduces energy consumption, which is covered almost in its entirety by the generously-sized photovoltaic system. MicroStep currently has 46 employees, who now have 60 offices, seminar rooms and storerooms with state of the art equipment as well as two bistros at their disposal. The new premises offer sufficient space for MicroStep Europa GmbH to be able to continue its growth course of recent years unabated: the numbers of employees and turnover have doubled since 2010. "This company is representative of Europe's success story. It shows what entrepreneurial and research spirit can achieve”, said Member of German Parliament Stephan Stracke in his speech.
Experience cutting machines live in action Coinciding with the inauguration of the new company building, the directly adjacent MicroStep CompetenceCenter was officially opened and presented to the 150 guests from politics, trade and industry. Technologies from MicroStep as well as further technologies that are of high importance to the metalworking industry are on display in the demonstration and training centre. Among other things it was possible to see live in action two multi-functional CNC cutting machines of the latest generation from the world market leader in automated plasma cutting.
Commitment to Bavaria as an industrial location “They can be very proud of themselves. With their decision they have proven that the strategic position of the Lower Allgäu is a special one”, said the District Administrator for the Lower Allgäu, Hans-Joachim Weirather. Bad Wörishofen's mayor Paul Gruschka added: “This is a commitment to the Lower Allgäu and Bad Wörishofen as an industrial location. We are proud that such a promising company has chosen to locate here.”
