The domestic manufacturer impressed with a broad portfolio of machines and solutions, captivating fair visitors and media.The 29th International Engineering Fair (MSV) in Nitra, Slovakia concluded last week, showcasing a diverse range of technologies from 119 exhibitors representing 16 countries. Over four days, thousands of visitors from the mechanical engineering, metalworking, and related industries explored the latest advancements.
Slovakia´s Prominent Metalworking EventThe fair commenced with an opening ceremony led by the State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Economy Kamil Šaško, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Košice Jozef Živčák, and Director of the Agrokomplex exhibition center Jozef Pavle. The successful day culminated in a gala evening with awards presentations – the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TU Košice, Slovakia received the top honor for the best scientific and technological presentation. Notably, they partnered with the company ENGLER AUTOMOTIVE Košice to unveil the ENGLER V12 super sports car, a show-stopping superquad equipped with a three-shaft sequential gearbox. This impressive vehicle became a major crowd-pleaser in the pavilion dedicated to universities, schools, professional organizations, and unions.
Enhancing the visitor experience, the four-day event featured a compelling lineup of accompanying programs. The Technical Inspection's 30th anniversary was marked by a specialist seminar on "Safety of Machinery." Additionally, the MSV hosted the inaugural Slovak Championships in Simulated Welding. The 26th edition of the nationwide "ELECTRON" conference took place on May 23rd, alongside the Slovak Union of Scientific and Technical Societies' (ZSVTS) "Day of Technicians," featuring insightful lectures on emerging technological trends.
MicroStep Showcased Live CNC Cutting and CyberFab ControlMicroStep, a well-known company in the domestic market, gained attention with a comprehensive display of their cutting and machining technologies – especially with
fiber laser and a combination of
plasma and
milling. One of the key highlights was also a digitalization stand with a fully functional control console of MicroStep´s latest controller
CyberFab Control featuring also software solutions like 2D and 3D CAMs
Asper and
mCAM and the
CyberFab Manager CAPP application. The setup demonstrated a production system cell where the production management was extended to additional workstations such as automated sorting or
bending.
The centerpiece of MicroStep´s exhibition was the
MSF Compact fiber laser machine. Throughout the event, the machine captivated audiences with live cutting demonstrations, showcasing both standard cutting of thicker materials and the dynamic cutting of thin steels using
DynaFly technology. The booth also featured a functional "Gb" stand demonstrating
oxyfuel bevel cutting technology. Additionally, a major cut sample with cut, drilled, and milled holes vividly illustrated the capabilities of MicroStep´s
DRM Max multifunctional CNC cutting center.
